About Me

During my time at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, I took many courses that have taught me valuable journalism skills, such as sports reporting, sports videography, multimedia journalism and more. I was able to contribute articles to the East Valley Tribune covering Desert Ridge High School football as part of my sports reporting class, which included conducting interviews and editing my stories for publication remotely from my home in Houston. I covered the ASU Olympic sports beat during my time with Cronkite News at Arizona PBS, writing several long-form features and profiles. I most recently served as a sports intern at The Arizona Republic covering high school sports and filling in for other beat writers when necessary. In addition to being a sports journalism major, I completed the Sales and Marketing Essentials Certificate to familiarize myself with the business side of sports. Furthermore, I am proficient in Microsoft Office for the day-to-day dealings of the workplace and am comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing. With these proficiencies and the courses I have taken, I am able to adapt and produce content for several media platforms.

With my skills and experience, I plan on pursuing a career in digital sports reporting or media relations. I still have much more to learn, but I am ready to build on this foundation and contribute in the sports industry.
